ULTRASONIC TESTING (UT)

CONVENTIONAL UT

Ultrasonic inspection is an NDT method in which beams of high-frequency sound waves are introduced into materials for detection of internal flaws in the test objects.

PHASED ARRAY UT

Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) is an advanced method of ultrasonic testing. Phased array ultrasonic method can reveal defects embedded in the material that cannot be easily resolved with conventional ultrasonic testing. The phased array probe consists an array of number of small ultrasonic transducers each of which can be pulsed individually.

TOFD

Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) ultrasonic testing is based upon diffraction. Diffraction is a common ultrasonic phenomenon and occurs under much broader conditions than just longitudinal-longitudinal diffraction as used in typical TOFD examinations.
